Tamales Update: Pork, chicken and veggie tamales are frozen and available for purchase
October 29, 2020:
We have a small supply of pork and chicken tamales frozen and available for purchase by the dozen during our office drop-in hours: Monday through Thursday, 12-6 pm. We expect to make more of all types at the beginning of November, but have not set a production date yet.
All varieties cost $20 per dozen — a very reasonable price for a delicious product that benefits CMS’ programs for farmworkers! We ask that customers use our online ordering to the greatest extent possible or call us at 970-464-5226 to order tamales. We’ll take exact cash payment or checks at CMS. We don’t accept credit or debit cards at our office.
To order online, see “Tamales” tab at the top of the page.
Pickup in Grand Junction at Chopstix Express restaurant remains unavailable until further notice.
This year it has been especially difficult to have sufficient staff members and volunteers in place to meet the demand for our Authentic Mexican tamales. During September, our cook and volunteers were busy harvesting grapes. We appreciate our customers’ understanding and patience!
We also appreciate the help of the volunteers who assist us while implementing our enhanced health and safety guidelines. We now require use of facial masks and social distancing in the preparation and sale of the tamales.
Unless otherwise stated, our tamales are available for purchase FROZEN by the dozen at the CMS Hospitality Center, 721 Peach Ave. in Palisade.
