Jan. 25, 2021 UPDATE: We plan to make all varieties of tamales on Thursday, Jan. 28 since those made earlier this month are almost gone. FROZEN pork tamales and veggie (vegan) tamales are currently available. Combo packages (with 6 pork and 6 chicken tamales) and Chicken tamales are now OUT OF STOCK.

All varieties cost $20 per dozen — a very reasonable price for a delicious product that benefits CMS’ programs for farmworkers! Our new procedure for the COVID era: we ask that customers use our online ordering to the greatest extent possible or call us at 970-464-5226 to order tamales. We’ll take exact cash payment or checks at CMS. We don’t accept credit or debit cards at our office.

In recent months it has been especially difficult to have sufficient staff members and volunteers in place to meet the demand for our Authentic Mexican tamales. We appreciate our customers’ understanding and patience!

All tamales are sold FROZEN and by the dozen, except on the day that they are made or if otherwise indicated.

PICKUP IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  After we reestablish our delivery service to Chopstix Express in Grand Junction, you may order online or contact CMS by email or phone. We’ll deliver your order to the Chopstix Express restaurant located at 1037 North Ave. across from Colorado Mesa University.

Chopstix Express does not take orders for the tamales.

Pork: Corn flour, baking powder, black pepper, red chili pepper, salt, lard, cloves, garlic,  pork and corn husk.

Chicken: Corn flour, baking powder,  salt, garlic, lard, tomatillos, cilantro, jalapeños, chicken, and corn husk.

Vegetarian (Vegan): Corn flour, baking powder, vegetable oil, salt, garlic, tomatillos, cilantro, jalapeños, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, and zucchini.

  • Frozen Tamales: can be kept in the freezer for about 4 months.



Microwave: Wrap tamales inside a moistened paper towel. Cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Steaming: about 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Serve with salsa of your choice.
